Healthy Treats That Aren’t So Tricky On The Waistline.

Ah yes! Halloween. That time of year when it’s okay to indulge in your favorite sweets. Unfortunately, many people overindulge to the point of packing on calories way too much.

A simple way to avoid those extra ghoulish pounds is to pay attention to what you eat, and also monitor your portion size. For example, If you plan to eat milk chocolate candies that have nuts and caramel, know in advance that there are plenty of empty calories involved, but by opting for the fun size bars that may have only 80 to 100 calories versus splurging on the king size bars that pack a whopping 500 or more calories, you can satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt, and avoid the extra pounds.

Popcorn is also a wonderful Halloween treat that you don’t have to be sitting in a movie theater to enjoy, and there are not as many calories involved as with other Halloween treats. Just be careful about adding too much caramel and nuts and chocolate in with your popcorn. This only adds to the calories.

Granola bars, are excellent snacks to hand out to trick-o-treaters who come to your door. They come in a wide assortment of flavors. They lack the huge calorie count and sugar content of most regular normal size candy bars, and yet still satisfy even the most finicky of taste buds.

Keep in mind that you can have your Halloween treats and eat them too; just be sure to be mindful of your proportions. Happy Halloween!
